Ascension, LA — Contractor's License Bond

Ascension Parish's current contractor materials describe Parish registration using an active State contractor certificate. Their required-document checklist does not list a surety bond. Before applying for this bond, ask the Building Department whether it has a separate current bond request for your activity.

What this bond does

Resolve the actual Parish surety request before treating contractor registration as a bond purchase requirement.

Who needs it
Contractors matching the State credential and each intended activity to Ascension Parish registration.
Who it protects
The current registration checklist does not establish this bond's accepted form, named recipient, sum or covered obligation. A separate written surety request is needed before relying on this option; registration and bond issuance are different steps.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Use the current registration documents

The current Building Department page links a Contractor Registration Application and Contractor Registration Information. They ask for the business, applicant, State license type and active State certificate.

The information sheet requires separate Parish registration for each State license the contractor wishes to use. It says registration expires December 31 and must be renewed before January 1 to perform work. Those are registration instructions, not proof of a bond term or a requirement to buy a separate bond for every trade.

Confirm the Parish request, not a city's mailing address

The Parish office's Gonzales mailing address does not make Parish registration the City of Gonzales contractor-license process. Ask the Parish Building Department to identify any actual surety requirement and its accepted recipient, form, sum, dates and filing instructions.

Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. If a separate Parish surety request is confirmed, match it with the provider before completing an application. After issuance, check execution and deliver as directed. Do not treat checkout as completed Parish registration or infer that no separate bond could ever be requested.

Have these ready

  1. Identify the actual State credential and Parish registration activity.
  2. Use the current registration application and information sheet.
  3. Confirm any separate written surety request, including exact form/recipient/sum/dates.
  4. Keep Parish registration, provider application, issuance and filing separate.

Questions about this bond

Does the current registration checklist list a surety?

The current information sheet does not. Confirm any separate surety request with the Parish before applying; registration does not by itself establish a bond requirement.

Does each separate registration prove I need another bond?

No. The sheet requires registration for each State license but does not establish a separate bond purchase for each one.

Is the Parish office's Gonzales address a City of Gonzales request?

No. Confirm the authority actually requesting your document; Parish registration and City licensing are distinct processes.
