What this bond does

City Code Article 2, Subtitle 1 requires appointment, a surety bond and a license before auction sales. Section 1-8 sets $25,000 security with a surety approved by the City Comptroller, posted before license issuance and effective throughout the license term.

Who needs it
The applicant for Baltimore City's auctioneer appointment and license. Section 1-3 addresses persons and business organizations; match the actual appointed principal and City file.
Who it protects
The stated condition is the auctioneer's performance in accordance with the provisions and intent of the City's auctions subtitle. It is not the separate County entrusted-property form or a general policy for the auctioneer's business losses.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Coordinate duplicate filing and Comptroller approval

Section 1-8 calls for filing in duplicate with the Director of the Department of Consumer Protection and Business Licensing. The duplicate goes to the City Comptroller for signatory approval and returns to the Director. This is a document-approval route, not a direction to buy two separate bonds.

Section 1-9 describes a one-year license and says failing to post the bond within thirty days after appointment renders the appointment null. Check the actual appointment and license file; neither a provider issue date nor an unlabeled catalog choice establishes the full licensing period.

Purchase Now opens Propeller. Match the City's principal, accepted undertaking, $25,000 sum and required dates, then follow the current duplicate-filing directions. Provider issuance does not replace the Comptroller's approval or issue the City license.

Questions about this bond

Is Baltimore County's $5,000 form the same requirement?

No. The City code calls for $25,000 and a City Director/Comptroller approval route. Use the actual City request rather than assuming the shared Baltimore name makes the County instrument acceptable.

Does duplicate filing mean two separate purchases?

Section 1-8 directs filing the security in duplicate and describes the approval route for the duplicate. It does not say to purchase two separate instruments.

Does the one-year license select the bond duration here?

No. The security must remain effective during the actual City license term. This catalog choice does not display a selected term; match the issued dates and current City file before submission.
