Chubbuck, ID — Security Guard Business Or Private Investigator Agency Bond

Chubbuck’s code sets a $10,000 bond for a security-guard business or private-investigator agency. That is the business category—not the separate $5,000 individual-guard/investigator category. Use The Southern Agency’s listing for the actual agency request and named licensed occupation.

What this bond does

City Code 5.24.060 calls for an Idaho-authorized surety’s instrument filed with the City Clerk before licensing. Its conditions include faithful and honest conduct, holding the City harmless for licensee acts and a remedy for people injured by specified wrongful conduct.

Who needs it
A paid guarding/patrol/protection business or investigative agency operating within Chubbuck’s defined licensing scope. The code distinguishes business applicants from individual employees and identifies particular single-employer/own-property exclusions; neither the company title nor this purchase establishes an exemption or licenses the staff.
Who it protects
The City condition protects against licensee acts and lets a person injured by a licensee’s wilful, malicious or wrongful act bring an action on the security for resulting damages. It is not an automatic $10,000 payment for every complaint or a promise that a security incident cannot occur.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Choose the business capacity—not the employee document

The City separates the $10,000 business/agency category from $5,000 for an individual guard or investigator. Check the licence’s named occupation and principal. Do not assume the business document completes each employee’s licensing or that one undertaking covers both kinds of business without matching the actual City request.

Business applications go to the Chief of Police and include principal/organization, experience, and principal-place-of-business information, with photographs/fingerprints for the applicable people. Those are City licensing steps, not a new intake process through The Southern Agency.

Keep the security active and insurance separate

Section 5.24.060 says the security must remain in full force and the licence is automatically forfeited if it expires or terminates. Get the actual accepted City dates; do not assume a December 31 end date or a purchase term from the catalog, which supplies no term label.

The same section separately calls for a public-liability insurance certificate and ongoing coverage while operating in the City. That is not replaced by the $10,000 business security. Confirm the actual certificate/limits with the City rather than treating these two documents as interchangeable.

Compare the City request before applying

Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. Match the legal business/principal, licensed occupation, City filing/recipient wording, $10,000 business sum, accepted form, and dates before completing the application.

Review the issued instrument and follow the City Clerk’s current filing instructions. The Chief of Police still controls the licensing decision; a purchase neither qualifies the principals nor grants police powers or additional arrest authority.

Have these ready

  1. Actual business/agency applicant and licensed occupation, distinct from individual employees.
  2. Chubbuck Chief of Police application/principal business location and applicable organization/personnel documents.

Questions about this bond

Is this the $5,000 individual guard or investigator document?

No. This listing concerns the code’s $10,000 business/agency category. Individual employee licensing and its separate $5,000 category should not be assumed complete because the business arranged security.

Does the business bond replace the public-liability certificate?

No. Section 5.24.060 separately calls for both. The surety conditions concern lawful, faithful conduct, City protection, and specified injured-person claims; the insurance certificate is its own licensing document.

Does completing the purchase grant police powers?

No. Section 5.24.080 says the City licence confers no police powers or additional arrest authority. Purchasing the instrument also does not complete the Chief’s principal/employee licensing review.
