What this bond does

Provide the licensing security delivered to the Evansville–Vanderburgh County Building Commission.

Who needs it
Applicants for the Commission's covered master, contractor and subcontractor licenses.
Who it protects
The linked form indemnifies the City–County against claims arising from the principal's work and provides protection for owners or parties with an interest against loss or damage from the work or materials. Its actual licensing conditions matter; do not substitute a generic private performance/payment bond.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Use the applicant and license type from the actual request

The Commission specifies $25,000 in the applicant's name on a form it provides to the insurance company. The form separately identifies principal, surety and trade/license activity and requires compliance with applicable ordinances, plans, specifications and rules.

Use the actual licensed applicant rather than assume a contact person's or business name is always interchangeable. General liability and workers' compensation requirements are separate; their insurance limits are not the surety sum.

Check the printed expiration and continuation instruction

The required form states December 31 expiration unless a continuation certificate is filed with the Building Commission. That is not a promise of automatic provider renewal or a new term choice on this page.

Purchase Now opens RLI in a new tab. After issuance, check the applicant, classification, $25,000, Evansville–Vanderburgh County naming, dates and execution, then deliver the required licensing document to the Commission. Applying for the bond does not satisfy examination, experience or separate license approval requirements.

Questions about this bond

Is the $25,000 the liability insurance amount?

No. The Commission lists the surety bond separately from liability and workers' compensation insurance.

Does the bond form protect only the government?

Its wording also addresses owners and parties with an interest against work/material-related loss or damage, subject to the actual form's conditions.

Does the provider application file a continuation or approve my license?

No. The form requires any continuation certificate to be filed with the Commission, and licensing qualification and approval remain separate.
