What this bond does

Provide the street-cut surety security accepted for the particular Harrisburg permit and applicant.

Who needs it
Utility applicants, property owners or contractors whose Harrisburg street-cut request calls for a bond.
Who it protects
Street-cut security concerns the required restoration, maintenance and other duties in the approved condition. It does not issue the permit or authorize a street closure.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Name the right applicant and recipient

The city-linked manual says public-utility cuts must be submitted in the utility facility owner/operator’s name, not the excavating contractor or customer. Non-utility curb and related work uses the owner or the owner’s contractor.

Its water/sewer instructions instead identify Capital Region Water and a separate recipient-specific bond. Ask the city and that authority which instruments apply; a City of Harrisburg bond should not be assumed to satisfy a Capital Region Water request.

Resolve the form and duration before issuance

The manual includes a $50,000 utility-company form and a $10,000 non-utility curb form. The latter also says sidewalk-repair bonds are not required until further notice. Confirm the current treatment of your work rather than applying one amount to every opening.

Duration wording needs clarification: Section 200.3 describes a longer survival period, while the sample forms describe two years with annual renewal. Obtain the City Engineer’s current required wording and dates. The purchase option itself supplies no amount or term.

Issue the bond, then complete permit approval

Have the provider compare the city-approved condition with this offering before continuing through the existing purchase link. Keep street-opening dimensions, work purpose and traffic-control information ready.

File the executed bond with the appropriate recipient and complete the street-cut application. The manual treats closure approval and permit-work timing separately from bond duration; neither bond purchase nor issuance authorizes work or a closure.

Questions about this bond

Should the utility contractor always be the principal?

No. The city manual directs public-utility cut applications to the utility facility owner/operator. Confirm the principal for the bond and permit.

Is the listed non-utility form required for every sidewalk repair?

The manual’s non-utility curb form includes a sidewalk-repair exception until further notice. Obtain current city instructions for your activity.

Can I assume this bond has a two-year term?

No. The manual and forms use different duration language. Resolve the required dates and continuing liability with the City Engineer and provider before issuance.
