Hudson County, NJ — Curb Bond

Use the Hudson County curb offering for the County's curb or driveway security request, not a municipal sidewalk requirement. Its current permit schedule distinguishes a $5,000 single-driveway guarantee from $10,000 for other curb and driveway work.

What this bond does

Provide the guarantee accepted by Hudson County for the approved curb or driveway work on its roadway. Confirm the work category with the County Engineer before choosing this offering.

Who needs it
The permit applicant responsible for curb or driveway work affecting a Hudson County road. Property-owner details and the contractor performing the work are separate entries on the County application.
Who it protects
The County's guarantee supports the permittee's restoration responsibilities and the County's recourse for deficient permitted work. It does not grant driveway access, replace insurance or serve as a general contractor license.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Choose curb security for curb work

Hudson County Engineering's current online application includes depressed curb, full-height curb and residential or commercial driveway work. The curb and driveway schedule lists a $5,000 guarantee for a single driveway and $10,000 for all others.

Road-opening performance security and bridge-work guarantees appear in different parts of that application. If your curb project also cuts the pavement or affects a bridge, ask the County Engineer which permits and guarantees apply. Do not substitute this curb offering for a separately requested road-opening bond.

Keep the County and municipal approvals distinct

The County application asks for the municipality, County route, property location, owner, applicant, contractor, work dimensions and proposed dates. Gather the plans or sketch, insurance, traffic-control details and applicable local permits before applying.

The current County conditions require an approved certificate of insurance naming the County as an additional insured. Municipal approval or a building permit does not itself approve work on the County roadway, and the curb bond does not replace either authority's review.

Order the accepted guarantee, then finish the permit process

Purchase Now retains the existing Propeller curb destination. Match the applicant, County recipient wording, approved amount, site and accepted form before proceeding. File the issued guarantee through the County's instructed permit process; bond issuance is not permit issuance.

The information packet describes guarantee return one year after final restoration, subject to County Engineer approval, and allows extended maintenance or additional security for particular work. That post-restoration condition is not a promise that a one-year purchase term will cover the entire job.

For work governed by the County's opening conditions, arrange the required advance work notice and utility mark-outs after obtaining approval. Keep the issued permit available at the site and coordinate completion notice with the County.

Questions about this bond

What guarantee amounts does the County list for curb work?

The current online curb and driveway schedule lists $5,000 for a single driveway and $10,000 for all others. Ask the County Engineer to confirm your category and approved security.

Is this the same as the Hudson County Road Opening Bond?

No. The County separately lists road-opening performance security. A project involving both curb work and a pavement opening needs the County's decision about the required instruments.

Does a municipal driveway permit replace County approval?

Do not assume it does. The County application separately requests applicable local permits and approval for work affecting its roadway.

When is the guarantee released?

The selected information packet describes one year after final restoration, subject to Engineer approval, with possible extended maintenance or additional security. Obtain the conditions for your permit; the provider option does not publish a fixed term.
