What this bond does

This is the regional utility district's contractor security, not automatically the street-work bond or permit of a town within its service area.

Who needs it
Contractors preparing the MDC eligibility file for sewer/drain connections and other work covered by the district's accepted contractor form.
Who it protects
The form secures the covered sewer, drain, water and related work rules and protects the Metropolitan District against specified damage and defaults. It names both the business and responsible individual state licensee.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Continuous security is different from the maintenance period

Appendix B of the posted January 2017 sewer-connection manual describes a continuous bond, subject to the surety's 90-day written cancellation notice.

It separately refers to a one-year maintenance period after work under a permit is complete. That work obligation is not a statement that the bond is a one-year purchase option.

Complete eligibility and local permissions separately

The manual calls for an eligibility application, bond and insurance before sewer-connection permit approval. It identifies P-1, P-7 or W-9 state credentials and proper business/licensee/surety execution.

It also describes local or state street-excavation permissions and a Call Before You Dig number as separate permit steps. Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab; check the issued form against current MDC instructions before completing the district file.

Sources

Have these ready

  1. Have current MDC eligibility instructions and the accepted district bond form.
  2. Match the business, responsible individual state licensee and Metropolitan District recipient.
  3. Check the $10,000 form and continuous wording without substituting a town's calendar-year rule.
  4. Keep insurance, eligibility approval and local/state excavation permissions separate from surety issuance.

Questions about this bond

Does continuous mean the surety can never cancel?

The posted form describes a continuous obligation with 90 days' written notice by the surety for cancellation. Its one-year work-maintenance provision is a separate condition.

Does this replace a town's street-work permission?

Not automatically. MDC is the regional utility recipient, and its manual describes local/state excavation permission separately from district eligibility and sewer-connection approval.

Does checkout approve me for an MDC connection permit?

No. The manual separates eligibility, insurance, bond execution and permit prerequisites. Confirm the current district file is accepted after issuance.
