What this bond does

City of Mission, Johnson County, Kansas security for proper restoration and replacement of covered ROW.

Who needs it
The City-required legal applicant/principal for excavation, trenching, boring or tunneling, with any building-permit-related exception clarified.
Who it protects
The City template secures proper ROW restoration and replacement to plans/specifications and its maintenance/release conditions. It is not insurance or a guarantee of all private-project payments.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Match Mission's form and required applicant

The City ROW webpage links its current GovBuilt application. It requires plans, applicable traffic control, approved permission, utility locates and at least 48-hour Public Works notice before construction; normal review is approximately three working days.

The published 2024 packet supplies a $5,000 template naming the City of Mission, Johnson County, Kansas. Its requirement sheet addresses plumbers, irrigation installers and other ROW repairs/new construction not covered by a building permit. Have Public Works confirm your role and security instead of assuming every building permit eliminates a separate ROW obligation.

Arrange originals, permission and restoration inspection

Purchase Now opens RLI; the option displays no fixed amount or term. Match the City's template, principal, amount, scope and dates with the issuer, arrange execution and accepted City filing, and supply separate liability insurance.

The packet requests City-format documents and an original bond. It allows discretion to accept a first applicant's fax but requires the original before subsequent permits; another format may require additional review. A portal upload does not prove that the original requirement has been waived.

The linked instructions require pre-placement inspection arranged at least 48 hours ahead and final inspection after restoration. They describe backfill within five working days and surface restoration within three weeks of final excavation, unless Public Works directs otherwise. The template's two-year maintenance/formal-release wording is not a quoted two-year provider term or automatic release when the crew leaves.
