What this bond does

Secure the operator's obligations and payments under the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority's Commercial Ground Transportation Rules and Regulations.

Who needs it
Off-Airport Rental Vehicle Operators serving MCO under an R permit. The rules distinguish that permit from the residual Non-Concessionaire N category and from an on-airport concession agreement.
Who it protects
GOAA's Exhibit R-2 binds the principal and surety to the Aviation Authority for compliance, sums due and losses from the principal's default, including specified legal costs. Covered defaults and unpaid obligations can remain enforceable after the stated bond period; this is not insurance for damage to a customer's rental car.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Details

Use the rental-operator calculation, not another ground-transportation category's fixed deposit. Under the currently linked rules, an off-airport rental operator's security is four times average monthly Dwell Time and Privilege Fees, using the previous twelve months where available. A new operator's requirement is estimated by the Chief of Operations, with a $2,500 minimum. Obtain GOAA's current calculation for your account before entering the sum.

The Authority accepts security in the prescribed forms, including the approved Exhibit R-2 bond. That form names GOAA as obligee and incorporates the ground-transportation rules; it also addresses recovered bankruptcy payments and enforcement of the surety's obligations. Follow its witness, seal, Florida registered-agent countersignature and certified power-of-attorney instructions. If the corporate principal block does not describe your legal entity correctly, clear that with GOAA and the provider before execution.

Do not copy the vehicle-permit renewal window as an automatic bond term. The rules call for a bond of at least one year and a renewal or replacement at least 60 calendar days before the prior bond expires. Release depends on GOAA's requirements, including satisfaction of financial obligations; an expired permit does not erase a default during the bond period.

Purchase Now opens Propeller's MCO non-concessionaire rental-car application in a new tab. Bring the actual GOAA written request, R-permit/account reference, legal operator name, calculated security amount, dates and approved R-2 form. Before paying, confirm that this offering matches the request and required execution. Provide the executed bond and attachments to the GT Permit Office as instructed and keep acceptance. Buying it does not complete the vehicle permit, insurance or operating-approval process.

Questions about this bond

Does non-concessionaire mean I should select an N permit?

The rules define a separate R permit for Off-Airport Rental Vehicle Operators. N is the residual category for operators not eligible for another listed permit. Have the GT Permit Office confirm your rental operation's classification.

How is the rental operator's security amount determined?

The current rules use four times average monthly Dwell Time and Privilege Fees, based on the preceding twelve months where available. A first-time operator's amount is estimated by the Chief of Operations, with a $2,500 minimum. Get the actual account calculation from GOAA.

Does the vehicle permit automatically renew the bond?

No. The rules separately require renewal or replacement security at least 60 calendar days before the old bond expires. Use the approved undertaking's dates and GOAA's instructions; a default during the bond period can remain covered beyond expiration.

Should I copy the insurance certificate's parties into the bond?

The R-2 bond names the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority as obligee. The current insurance instructions separately name GOAA and the City of Orlando as additional insureds. Keep the bond and insurance requirements distinct.
