What this bond does

Provide the county-requested security for a contractor permit or certificate under the applicable Osceola County ordinance.

Who needs it
Contractors directed to provide Osceola County's Contractor's Surety Bond, including state-registered contractors whose renewal checklist calls for a surety continuation.
Who it protects
The form secures observance of the applicable ordinance, state law and required duties, and holds Osceola County harmless for specified actions, costs and damages arising from the principal's work. It is separate from the contractor's liability and workers' compensation evidence.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Use the county form and September 30 period

The form identifies the license holder and company, the permit or certificate classification, a beginning date and an ending date of September 30 with the year to be completed. It includes a license-holder signature and surety execution.

A continuation certificate signed by the surety can continue the bond. Use the county's dates for your certificate file; neither the $5,000 amount nor the existing RLI card promises a fresh twelve-month term from purchase.

Separate registration, renewal and the RLI application

The county's renewal page lists a surety continuation under State Registered Contractor, alongside the state-registered license, insurance and business tax receipt. It describes the annual business tax receipt deadline separately. Those documents and deadlines do not replace the period written on the bond.

Purchase Now opens RLI in a new tab. Initial county registration and connecting a license to a Permit Center account are separate county steps; the county directs renewals through its renewal instructions. After issuance, check the names, classification, dates and signatures, and follow the county's delivery directions. Provider issuance alone does not activate the county license record.

Sources

Have these ready

  1. Have the county's request for the permit, certificate or state-registered renewal file.
  2. Use the $5,000 County form and its Board of County Commissioners obligee wording.
  3. Prepare the license-holder and company fields, classification, beginning date and September 30 ending year.
  4. Determine whether the county wants a new bond or a surety-signed continuation.
  5. Check the completed instrument and submit it separately from the RLI application.

Questions about this bond

Is the Florida Governor the recipient on this county form?

No. Osceola County's June 2026 form names the Board of County Commissioners of Osceola County, Florida. Do not copy another county's obligee wording just because its amount is also $5,000.

Can a continuation be used for renewal?

The form allows continuation by a certificate signed by the surety, and the county's state-registered renewal checklist calls for a surety continuation. Confirm the certificate period and current renewal instructions for your file.

Does buying the bond connect my license to the county portal?

No. The county describes registration and account linking as separate Permit Center steps. Applying through RLI or receiving the bond does not complete those county actions.
