What this bond does

City of Overland Park, Kansas annual ROW performance and maintenance security for its ten-or-fewer permit category.

Who needs it
The City-required permit applicant/principal planning covered work within the annual count, after checking work/owner/government exemptions.
Who it protects
The accepted form secures performance of the City's ROW chapter and restoration duties. Annual count does not create unlimited dollar liability or private-project payment coverage.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Use the annual permit count, not a count of sites or crews

The posted Code offers $15,000 for ten permits or fewer per year as an alternative to security for individual permits. Ask Engineering how your issued permits are counted, the covered period and whether the programme fits your work; it does not remove separate applications.

The section exempts listed driveway replacement, landscaping and new-construction plumbing connections from the bond, with separate government and self-performing residential-owner rules. Larger service-provider build-outs can require an increased amount. Check those circumstances before selecting this category.

Prepare each application and keep prior work covered

Posted §13.12.450 requires a pre-application conference unless the Engineer waives it, registration verification, a completed application with scaled existing/proposed facilities drawings and a traffic-control plan. Identify the ROW-user and performing contractor rather than assuming an annual bond is a permit.

Purchase Now opens Propeller; the option displays no fixed amount or term. Match the City-Attorney-approved form, legal parties, assigned sum, covered permits and dates with the issuer. Arrange execution and accepted Clerk filing with separate insurance before obtaining work permission.

The Code requires coverage during the permit and two years afterward and prohibits continuing a previous year's annual bond to allow additional permits. If the programme will exceed ten or move into another year, obtain Engineering's next-category and continuation instructions; preserve inspection, restoration and acceptance records for existing work.

Questions about this bond

Does the bond itself authorize ten projects?

No. The category counts permits per year. Each operation still needs the applications and permission Engineering requires.

What if an eleventh permit is needed?

Ask Engineering for the applicable higher-count category and accepted security before assuming this instrument covers it.

Can I continue last year's bond for new permits?

The posted section expressly prohibits that use of a previous year's annual bond. Arrange new-period security without leaving prior restoration duties uncovered.
