Utah — Other Specialty Contractor License Bond

“Other Specialty” alone does not identify your Utah license classification or bond requirement. If the Division of Professional Licensing has requested security, bring its exact classification, business name and written bond instructions before applying.

What this bond does

Match an actual Division-required licensing obligation rather than assume this label applies to every other trade.

Who needs it
Applicants and existing licensees resolving the classification and financial-security condition in their own Division request.
Who it protects
A licensing bond is not automatically a payment/performance bond for a job. The accepted instrument must identify the actual recipient, obligation and conditions; the Division's financial-review paperwork is not that instrument.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Keep licensing conditions and release separate

DOPL's current Bond Release Request identifies the contractor business, license number and applicable DBAs. A sole proprietor uses the full legal name. Match your actual license/applicant and requested class rather than infer a class or amount from Other Specialty.

For an existing Division-required bond, release is a separate Division review. The October 2026 form asks for financial-history documentation and warns against cancelling without permission. Filing that request, paying a debt or receiving a license is not automatic permission to cancel.

Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. Use the actual Division bond request to apply; after issuance, verify the principal, recipient, sum, dates and execution and follow confirmed filing. Do not use release-request delivery instructions as proof of initial bond filing.
