Winter Haven, FL — Contractor's License Bond

Prepare your Winter Haven contractor bond application from the city's written request, not from a Polk County record. Winter Haven's 2026 registration guide separates city account updates from county data; Purchase Now starts a separate RLI application.

What this bond does

Help the license holder prepare the surety document identified for the Winter Haven city file without confusing it with portal registration.

Who needs it
Contractors with a written Winter Haven request for contractor-license security.
Who it protects
The accepted instrument determines the secured conditions and legal beneficiary. City portal access, insurance certificates and an RLI application are different records.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Keep the new city registration record current

The city's guide describes registration beginning January 2026 through Winter Haven Accela. Initial applicants upload the state license certificate and workers' compensation and liability certificates; it says DBPR screenshots are not accepted as the license certificate.

After initial registration, the guide says the system no longer pulls registration information from Polk County's database. Updates go directly through Winter Haven's portal. Employees and permit expediters use separate accounts and an invitation from the registered license holder for delegated access.

Prepare the bond separately from account access

Use the city's written request for the accepted form, legal names, amount and period. Do not import a county amount or treat an insurance certificate-holder instruction as full surety wording. The existing RLI card does not publish an amount or term.

Purchase Now opens RLI in a new tab. After issuance, check the document and follow the city's current surety-delivery instructions. Registration, delegate access and provider issuance are separate actions; none automatically completes the others.

Sources

Have these ready

  1. Obtain the city request and accepted surety form.
  2. Prepare the license-holder and company names specified for the bond.
  3. Confirm the amount, period and city delivery instructions.
  4. Keep Winter Haven registration updates separate from Polk County records.
  5. Arrange signer authority separately from any portal delegate access.

Questions about this bond

Will a Polk County update refresh my Winter Haven record?

The 2026 city guide says that after initial registration it no longer pulls registration information from Polk County. Submit updates directly through the city process.

Can my employee use the city portal?

The guide provides separate delegate accounts with an invitation and accepted permissions from the registered license holder. That portal process does not itself supply authority to sign surety documents.

Does the registration guide give me the bond amount?

No surety amount or term is supplied by that guide or the existing RLI card. Use the city's written bond request instead of another jurisdiction's figures.
