What this bond does

For a club using the surety route, Section 616.72 and the current application packet specify a $50,000 bond payable to Wisconsin. The statute permits the specified $25,000 cash/securities alternative and contains a narrow historical exception; match the actual company file rather than assuming every existing club must buy new security.

Who needs it
A company selling or furnishing the defined motor-club services under an OCI application or existing certificate. Identify the actual services and company security request, not a member's roadside-assistance purchase or individual court appearance.
Who it protects
The State-payable undertaking conditions the club's faithful sale or rendering of services and payment of the stated fines or penalties for statutory noncompliance. The separate guaranteed-arrest declaration concerns the surety's obligations on member certificates; it is not the printed $50,000 Motor Club Bond.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Choose the company-security document actually requested

Use the current packet's separately headed Bond (Motor Club) and actual company principal. Do not enter the deposit alternative's $25,000 into its $50,000 undertaking or substitute the arrest-certificate declaration merely because both appear in the application packet.

The application and current statute describe annual authority renewal by July 1. The posted bond also addresses succeeding renewal periods. Coordinate the accepted execution and dates with OCI; the license calendar and the packet's printed period wording do not select a duration in this listing.

Purchase Now opens Propeller. Match the company, State recipient, service-performance condition, $50,000 sum and accepted dates before applying. File the company application, security and actual service-contract materials separately; an issued bond is not authority to sell club services.

Sources

Have these ready

  1. Identify the actual OCI company application or existing certificate.
  2. Check whether the file uses the prescribed bond or accepted deposit alternative.
  3. Use the Motor Club Bond, not only the separate arrest-certificate declaration.
  4. Match the company principal, State, sum, condition and required notarized execution.
  5. Coordinate accepted dates, authority renewal and the submitted service contracts.

Questions about this bond

Why does the application mention $25,000 but the bond says $50,000?

Section 616.72 distinguishes the cash/securities deposit from the prescribed surety alternative. The current packet's actual Motor Club Bond states $50,000; they are not interchangeable sums.

Is the arrest-certificate declaration this company bond?

The packet prints them separately with different conditions. Identify which filing OCI requests instead of treating the arrest undertaking as the $50,000 service-performance document.

Must an existing club order another bond each July?

Check its accepted security and renewal file first. The posted undertaking addresses succeeding license periods, and the statute contains its stated historical exception. Annual authority renewal alone is not proof that duplicate new security is required.
