Company background
American Modern developed from The Midland Company’s financing operations into mobile-home insurance and later other specialty lines. American Modern Insurance Group was formed in 1994 and is now part of Munich Re. Its specialty residential and recreational business includes homes, boats, and other recreational property. The mobile-home origins refer to manufactured housing; that history should not be read as a description of recreational-vehicle insurance.
