What this bond does

Alabama State Board of Auctioneers Form 8 names the auctioneer or apprentice applicant and binds that person and the surety to the Board for $10,000. It ties the security to compliance with the Auctioneers License Act and indemnification for the specified misconduct.

Who needs it
An individual preparing an auctioneer or apprentice license file. The common form accommodates either role; selecting a bond does not decide which license the applicant qualifies for.
Who it protects
The undertaking addresses damage from the principal's misrepresentation, fraud or violation of the Act. It is not protection for the auctioneer's own lost income or a replacement for insurance on property at a sale.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Prepare the named applicant's original security

Use the applicant's legal name and actual auctioneer or apprentice category. A business name or employer's auction operation does not, by itself, identify the individual principal required by the posted form.

Form 8 says the bond remains in force indefinitely and a continuation or renewal certificate is unnecessary. It also caps liability for all claims at $10,000 and permits cancellation on sixty days' written notice, preserving liability for earlier defaults. That notice period is not a sixty-day purchase term.

Purchase Now opens Propeller. Follow the Board's checklist on when to submit the completed form, original bond and power of attorney. Check the issued principal and execution before delivery; provider completion does not issue either license.

Sources

Have these ready

  1. Identify whether the file is for an auctioneer or apprentice applicant.
  2. Match the principal's legal name to the Board application.
  3. Have current Form 8 and the Board's submission checklist available.
  4. Arrange the original bond, power of attorney and required signatures.
  5. Confirm any replacement security is coordinated with cancellation of an existing bond.

Questions about this bond

Does the common form give an apprentice a full auctioneer license?

No. Form 8 names the applicant's requested role, but the Board decides licensing eligibility. The security does not turn apprentice status into unrestricted auctioneer authority.

Does the posted form require a renewal certificate every year?

It says a continuation or renewal certificate is unnecessary and describes indefinite effect subject to cancellation. Keep licensing renewals and any replacement-security request separate from that provision.

What should I have after applying through Propeller?

Check the issued bond and attorney authority against the Board's directions, including the named applicant and execution. An application receipt is not the original security package or confirmation that a license was issued.
