Alabama — Blue Sky (Broker Dealer, Investment Advisor) Uniform Surety Bond
Alabama's securities capital rule requires a State-payable bond in specified dealer and adviser circumstances. Custody or discretion generally calls for $50,000 of bonding in addition to required capital, unless the Commission orders otherwise. A separate provision permits a bond of at least $50,000 as a capital alternative. Confirm the firm's actual route with the Alabama Securities Commission.

What this bond does
The Commission's posted Uniform Surety Bond ties liability to the firm's registration and failure to comply with applicable securities statutes, orders, rules and regulations. Designate whether the principal is a broker-dealer or investment adviser; the Blue Sky label does not replace that choice of regulated capacity.
- Who needs it
- A dealer or investment advisory firm matching an Alabama Securities Commission request. Use the registered entity, not an individual representative or an issuer merely selling its own securities.
- Who it protects
- The rule makes the bond payable to the State of Alabama, and the uniform form states that the obligation benefits persons with a claim under its conditions. A qualifying claimant may proceed against the principal or surety, but all recoveries share the aggregate sum. Buying the bond does not itself register the firm.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Questions about this bond
Does the $10,000 adviser capital figure mean a $10,000 bond?
It is the rule's adviser net-capital minimum. The custody-or-discretion bonding provision states $50,000, and the separate capital-alternative provision uses at least $50,000. Match the Commission's actual request rather than substituting one figure for another.
Does one form automatically cover both dealer and adviser roles?
The uniform undertaking asks which capacity the principal is registered in. Complete the role or roles accepted for the actual request; the broad catalog title does not establish coverage for every registration held by the business.
Does Uniform mean it works in every state?
It is a standard form with jurisdiction, agency, capacity and statutory-basis entries. Those still need to match the Alabama file. Its format is not proof that an issued bond satisfies another state's request.
What does Purchase Now open?
It opens Propeller's Alabama Blue Sky uniform-bond application in a new tab. Match the accepted dealer/adviser capacity, legal firm, Alabama obligation, required sum and dates. Review and execute the issued document with the required acknowledgments and authority, then supply it to the Commission as directed.
