Alsip, IL — Contractor License Bond

The Village of Alsip's posted contractor sheet is class-specific: its general, garage and solar line shows a $10,000 two-year bond, while other trades have different rules. Check your category and the application’s Bond Required yes/no field before applying through Propeller.

What this bond does

Prepare the security the Village requests for the applicant's actual contractor-license class, without buying another trade's instrument.

Who needs it
Contractors whom the Village has directed to submit a bond for their Alsip license class.
Who it protects
The accepted bond form determines the secured conditions and beneficiary. The Village's license application separately conditions licensing on truthful information and compliance with Village ordinances; liability insurance is a different document.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Do not use a universal contractor amount

The Village's 2022 information sheet lists $10,000 for general, garage and solar contractors and $5,000 for electrical contractors, each with a two-year bond description. Other categories differ. These figures describe the posted class rows, not a new amount or term on the existing Propeller option.

The same sheet says that a plumbing contractor submitting the stated Illinois public-health license completes the license application without a bond. That narrow case does not exempt every plumbing applicant or other contractor from a Village request.

Let the Village identify your bond requirement

The new-applicant form asks for company name, contractor type and license identifiers and has a Bond Required yes/no entry. Match that answer and the Village's current accepted instrument before choosing a provider application; do not mistake an insurance certificate for the required surety when the class calls for a bond.

Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. After issuance, review the amount, dates, principal and execution against the actual request, then follow the Building Department's delivery instructions. A provider receipt is not license approval.

Sources

Have these ready

  1. Have the Village's current class-specific request and bond-required decision.
  2. Match the company, contractor type and applicable license identifiers.
  3. Use the accepted amount, duration and wording for that category.
  4. Keep an insurance certificate separate from a surety instrument.
  5. Check issued details and Village delivery before assuming the license is active.

Questions about this bond

Is $10,000 the amount for every Alsip contractor?

No. The posted sheet uses that figure for general, garage and solar; the electrical line shows $5,000, and other trades have different instructions. Use your current Village category.

Does every plumber need this bond?

The sheet says no bond for the stated plumbing case with an Illinois public-health license submitted, though the applicant still fills out the license form. Ask the Village how it classifies your actual credential.

Can I rely on the old information sheet alone?

It is dated 2022. Use it to spot category differences, then confirm the current application, Bond Required entry and accepted instrument with the Village before applying.
