Arizona — Contractor's License Bond - Specialty Dual/Combined

An Arizona Specialty Dual/Combined bond needs the residential specialty and commercial specialty components—not the general-contractor amounts. Have the ROC trade classification and both required sums ready, then select Purchase Now to apply through RLI.

What this bond does

This offering supports the specialty dual contractor license on the Arizona Registrar of Contractors application. Dual combines residential and commercial scope within the relevant classification; it does not grant unrestricted general contracting authority.

Who needs it
Businesses preparing ROC specialty dual license security, with the residential and commercial portions matched to the licensed classification.
Who it protects
The state license form provides security for statutory beneficiaries identified in A.R.S. §32-1152. It limits liability by classification and penal sum, rather than guaranteeing every job without a limit.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Keep specialty amounts on both sides

Residential specialty requires $4,250 below $375,000 in anticipated annual gross volume and $7,500 at $375,000 or more. Commercial specialty uses a separate six-band schedule starting at $2,500 for $150,000 or less.

The commercial specialty band above $150,000 through $500,000 is $7,000—not the $7,500 residential specialty amount. Read each side's actual threshold instead of carrying one amount across both schedules.

Identify the trade and show the split

ROC lists specialty dual classifications as combinations of defined commercial and residential trade scopes. Use the exact designation in your application, not simply specialty contractor.

The bond information page says dual amounts combine the two requirements and must show the separate commercial and residential penal sums. A total without the correct split does not follow that instruction.

Review the issued document before completing the file

Purchase Now opens RLI in a new tab. Have the business identity, DBA if applicable, specialty dual classification and both sums available.

Check classification, split amounts and execution after issuance. Complete ROC filing under your application's instructions and confirm who uploads the bond. This RLI link does not by itself prove portal filing or licensing approval.

Sources

Have these ready

  1. Have the exact ROC specialty dual designation.
  2. Determine residential specialty and commercial specialty components independently.
  3. Use the applicant business name and any DBA consistently.
  4. Check both sums and execution and confirm completion of ROC filing.

Questions about this bond

Can I use the general dual schedules?

Use the schedules for your actual classification. ROC publishes different general and specialty amounts, so a general-dual amount should not be substituted just because both licenses are dual.

Are the residential and commercial specialty bands the same?

No. Their thresholds and amounts differ. For example, the higher residential specialty amount is $7,500, while commercial specialty has a $7,000 band above $150,000 through $500,000.

Does the bond expand the trade work I may perform?

No. ROC's classification defines the residential/commercial trade scopes. Bond purchase does not convert a specialty dual classification into general contracting authority.
