Aurora, OH — Contractor's License Bond

Aurora uses a signed $25,000 Contractor's Performance Bond for registration. Its current 2026 form ends December 31, 2026, and the City does not accept continuation bonds. Complete City registration separately before the project can receive its building permit.

What this bond does

Support the actual contractor classification in Aurora's registration and permit process.

Who needs it
General contractors and subcontractors working under City building permits, with the actual registration activity identified.
Who it protects
The form binds the principal and surety to the City for compliance and specified restoration/completion obligations. It addresses material removal, restoring opened streets/highways and work needed to leave the area free of violations; it does not replace every private project's performance/payment security or liability insurance.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Use the 2026 form rather than a continuation

Match the principal and contractor classification throughout the form. The City requests a signed bond and accompanying power of attorney with visible seals on both. Its application page rejects continuation bonds; the form itself prints the December 31, 2026 end date.

The certificate of liability insurance must name the City as certificate holder and additional insured. RITA Form 48 and mechanical contractors' applicable State licenses are separate evidence. The City says it cannot issue the project permit until all contractors working on it are registered.

Purchase Now opens RLI, not the City's registration portal. Check the accepted 2026 form, amount, dates and execution, then complete portal registration and separate permit steps. Provider payment alone does not register the contractor or authorize the project.

Questions about this bond

May I send a continuation certificate instead?

The City's current instructions say continuation bonds are not accepted.

Does performance wording make this every project's full contract bond?

No. This City registration instrument has specified compliance, restoration and completion conditions and a $25,000 surety limit.

Is the bond the last step before starting the project?

No. City registration and the project's separate permit process still apply.
