Avon, OH — Contractor Registration License Bond

Avon requires its original $10,000 License Performance Bond as part of contractor registration before plan approval or permits. Match the business address across the bond, insurance and workers' compensation evidence; buying the bond does not complete registration.

What this bond does

Supply the City's required surety component for the actual contractor/subcontractor business registration.

Who needs it
Contractors preparing Avon's registration packet with a consistent legal applicant, business address and nature of work.
Who it protects
Avon's instrument names the City for the use of parties contracting with the principal and addresses Building Code work and specified defective-work, material or negligence losses. It is separate from insurance and does not automatically supply every project's full performance/payment security.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Prepare the original City form and complete packet

The packet accepts only the City form and original bond, not continuation bonds. It normally ends December 31 and describes a thirteen-month arrangement after December 1. Confirm the actual requested dates with the City and Propeller before applying.

The application requests a verified/notarized certification page and provides a photo-ID verification route if a notary is unavailable. It also requests separate insurance, workers' compensation, applicable State credentials and RITA information. The City is the liability certificate holder; its instructions say additional-insured status is not required.

Purchase Now opens Propeller, not Avon's Building Department. Check the accepted instrument, address consistency, amount, dates and execution after issuance, then submit the registration packet. The bond purchase neither registers the business nor obtains plan approval or a permit.
