Bay County MI, MI — County Highway Permit - Construction Bond

For construction in a Bay County road right-of-way, obtain the Road Commission's permit-specific security requirement. Its current selected schedule applies a construction-cost calculation with a $5,000 minimum to marked work categories—not automatically to every construction activity.

What this bond does

Bay County Road Commission, Michigan security for performance of the specified county-road construction permit and required right-of-way restoration.

Who needs it
The responsible permittee and its actual contractor, with authorization documented when the contractor applies for another entity.
Who it protects
The selected work bond addresses the identified permit obligations and restoration of affected rights-of-way and structures. It is not an unlimited guarantee of the whole private project.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Match the calculation to the actual construction category

The current selected schedule marks commercial/private-road approaches, open-cut and bore crossings, and ditch enclosure/cleanout work for a performance bond of 5% of construction cost or $5,000, whichever is greater; it also identifies cash security as acceptable for those entries. Have the Commission classify the work and assign the actual instrument and sum.

Give the permit agent the county-road limits, plans, utility or approach work and applicant/contractor identities. A contractor applying for another party must provide the required authority. Do not treat a county highway construction permit as a contractor licence or permission for all private-site work.

Keep permit performance and acceptance-based repairs distinct

The selected Bond for Work in the Rights-of-Way names the Board, covers specified permit obligations and requires restoration to Commission satisfaction. It also guarantees construction/restoration against defective workmanship or materials for one calendar year after Commission acceptance, with its stated claim provisions. That is not a one-year supplied term beginning at purchase.

Purchase Now opens Propeller. The option displays no fixed amount or term. Match the Commission's form, principal/Board recipient, assigned penal sum, covered permit or permits and dates with the issuer, arrange execution and accepted filing, and obtain the actual Oxcart permit.

Coordinate start/completion notices, traffic protection, inspections and any required as-constructed records. The form provides for Commission termination of obligations and separate notice concerning future acts; have the Commission and issuer confirm the actual expiry/continuation and release rather than assuming a final patch automatically ends security.

Questions about this bond

Is every construction bond simply $5,000?

No. For the schedule's marked categories it is 5% of construction cost or $5,000, whichever is greater. Confirm the category and assigned amount; other work has its own requirements.

Does a bond on file authorize construction?

No. The Commission must approve the actual work and issue the permit. Security filing, plans and work permission are separate steps.

Does the guarantee year start when I buy?

The general work form uses Commission acceptance for its one-calendar-year construction/restoration guarantee. The option displays no fixed term; confirm the executed instrument's dates and release.
