Blue Springs, MO — Right Of Way Permit Bond

Blue Springs separates ROW work, temporary traffic control and street-cut restoration. Describe which your job involves before preparing security. The City's published guidance requires a bond-backed guarantee for affected surfaces, with different periods for artificial surfaces and landscaping; those periods are not the short work-permit duration.

What this bond does

Support the City of Blue Springs, Missouri ROW work/restoration obligation assigned to the actual applicant and project.

Who needs it
The utility company or contractor undertaking identified ROW work, with any resident doing their own adjacent work classified separately by Engineering.
Who it protects
The City's guidance connects bonding to the work and restoration guarantee. Separate liability insurance and street-cut escrow do not turn the bond into insurance or a payment guarantee for unrelated construction.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Describe the cut, affected surface and traffic impact

The City lists sidewalk, curb, driveway/culvert and other repairs as examples of ROW work requiring permission. Its application distinguishes ROW work, temporary traffic control and work with a street cut. Identify all that apply, including utility owner, contractor, locations and proposed dates.

The published guidance states 48 months for artificial surfaces such as roads and sidewalks and 24 months for plant covering/landscaping, with the guarantee provided as a bond. Ask Engineering to identify the applicable surfaces, starting point and accepted form for your work.

That guidance separately describes a 60-day permit and an available extension. Do not enter that permit duration as the bond's restoration period. Separate street-cut escrow is also not a stated minimum bond amount.

Prepare security and obtain the actual permit

Give Engineering the principal's legal name, actual ROW registration status, facility owner, plans and excavation/traffic details. The guidance distinguishes contractors/utilities from certain residents doing their own adjacent work and describes a qualified asset/history exception. Do not assume every applicant has the same insurance and bonding requirements.

Purchase Now opens Propeller. No fixed amount or term is published for this option. Use the City's accepted bond request, assigned sum, dates and execution instructions; keep required insurance and escrow documents separate and arrange the issued bond's accepted delivery.

Obtain the actual ROW and any traffic-control authorization before work. Application lead times vary for new facilities, repairs and significant closures. Follow the City's project-specific notice, inspection and restoration instructions; finishing a cut or reaching permit expiry does not by itself establish bond release.

Questions about this bond

Is the ROW permit's 60-day duration the bond period?

No. The City separately describes longer surface/restoration guarantees. Confirm the applicable bond and its dates with Engineering.

Is a street-cut escrow the ROW bond amount?

No. The City lists escrow separately. Obtain the assigned bond request rather than copying an escrow figure into the bond.

Does a ROW bond also approve a lane closure?

No. Identify temporary traffic control on the application and obtain the actual permission and notice instructions for the closure.
