What this bond does

Provide security in favor of the City of Clayton, Missouri for restoration of the ROW affected by the actual permitted work.

Who needs it
The ROW Activity Permit applicant responsible for the work, with a new facility's owner/provider and working subcontractors identified separately.
Who it protects
The City's information sheet identifies restoration security, not a blanket guarantee of every contractor's payment or performance. Subcontractors' work is covered under the applicant's bond in this process; their separate insurance certificates remain required.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Name the applicant and identify the affected ROW

Clayton defines the applicant as the person or company receiving the ROW Activity Permit and responsible for its work. For new facilities, the owner is separately identified as the provider and must satisfy the City's facilities-provider registration requirement.

List subcontractors, site/work limits, excavation details and any affected traffic or parking. The selected guide requires a One Call ticket for excavation applications and describes plans and traffic-control information. Follow the current Citizenserve application directions rather than assuming an older paper-copy instruction is the only submission method.

The performance and maintenance bond is in the City's favor for restoration and continues 24 months following work completion. The guide makes the applicant responsible for requesting release in writing; completion is not automatic financial closeout.

Distinguish City approval, issuance and release

Public Works identifies required bonds and insurance following application review. Confirm the assigned amount and accepted wording. The guide calls for a suitably rated surety, City Attorney approval and a bond endorsement requiring 60 days after the City's receipt of certified written cancellation/nonrenewal notice. That is separate from its insurance notice provision.

Purchase Now opens Propeller. This option supplies no fixed amount or term. Use the actual City request during the provider application, complete execution and submit the issued instrument through the City's accepted process before permit issuance.

Obtain the actual permit and its attached review conditions before work. The guide separately requires notice for City-owned cable locates and inspections, including a final inspection after restoration/cleanup. Keep permit closure and the written bond-release request distinct, and confirm the actual outstanding maintenance obligation.

Questions about this bond

Is the facility owner always the bond principal?

Do not assume that. Clayton separately identifies the permit applicant and the owner/provider of new facilities. Match the actual City bond request.

Does a final inspection automatically release the maintenance bond?

The guide separately requires 24 months after completion and makes the applicant responsible for requesting bond release in writing.

Is the bond's cancellation notice the same as the insurance notice?

No. The guide states a 60-day City-receipt requirement for the bond and a separate insurance provision. Use the accepted bond endorsement.
