What this bond does

Boise requires a fiduciary bond naming the city before issuing a private patrol agent license. Use the individual agent identity in the licensing file.

Who needs it
Individuals seeking a Boise private patrol agent license. A licensed service’s owner or operator may qualify to act without an additional agent bond under the city code.
Who it protects
The bond names the City of Boise and provides the fiduciary security required for the agent license. Its detailed claim conditions follow the accepted instrument.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Use the agent requirement

Section 3-12-10 sets $2,500 for a private patrol agent or alarm installer and $10,000 for a patrol, security or alarm installation service. Use the agent requirement here rather than substituting a company bond.

Section 3-12-6(E) allows an owner or operator of a validly licensed service to act for that service without an additional bond. Check which licensing capacity applies to your application.

Apply and complete the city filing

Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. Have your legal name, Boise agent application details, city bond instructions and requested effective date ready.

After issuance, check the city wording and submit the bond with your licensing documents to the City Clerk’s Office. The chapter separately requires liability insurance evidence; buying a bond does not complete that requirement or grant the license.

  3. City-requested bond form, $2,500 agent requirement and requested dates.

Questions about this bond

Can I use the company’s $10,000 figure?

That is the service business requirement. The code lists $2,500 for an agent, with a separate exception for a licensed service’s owner or operator acting for that service.

Does the bond replace liability insurance?

No. The code separately requires liability insurance and a certificate with the application.

Does the agent license give extra police powers?

No. Section 3-12-15 says the license grants no additional arrest powers or authority to carry weapons contrary to law.
