California — PACE Program Finance Lender And/Or Broker Bond

California licenses PACE programme administrators under the California Financing Law. Match the bond request to that licensed role rather than treating a contractor's or salesperson's PACE enrolment as a finance license.

What this bond does

Provide California Financing Law security for the licensee and activity identified in the DFPI request, including the relevant PACE programme role.

Who needs it
PACE programme administrators and finance businesses with a DFPI security request identifying their licensed role and legal entity.
Who it protects
Financial Code22112 makes the bond payable to the commissioner for specified regulatory expenses, fines and fees, and borrower or consumer losses caused by a licensee's noncompliance with the California Financing Law. It does not repay every PACE assessment or guarantee installation work.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Details

DFPI defines a PACE programme administrator as a business administering a programme on behalf of a public agency. It separately describes PACE solicitors and solicitor agents, often contractors and home improvement salespeople. Identify whether the actual request concerns the administrator or a separately licensed lender or broker. Purchasing this bond does not enrol a solicitor, grant a contractor license or establish a public agency's programme approval.

Section22112 requires at least $25,000, with one bond for multiple licensed locations. Its higher-bond rule addresses licensees employing mortgage loan originators and making or arranging residential mortgage loans; do not automatically import that volume schedule into a PACE-only request. The section requires original bonds, riders and endorsements to be filed within ten days of execution and provides for replacement security after recovery or when the commissioner requires it.

Purchase Now opens Propeller's California PACE Program Finance Lender and/or Broker application in a new tab. Bring the current DFPI request, exact entity and license identifiers, administrator or lender/broker role, relevant programme, accepted instrument, required sum and dates. Match the request before paying. Arrange execution, confirm accepted original-bond delivery and any NMLS instructions, complete the separate license or amendment and retain DFPI acceptance. The programme's NMLS license application is not by itself proof that every bond filing follows the same route.

Questions about this bond

Is PACE solicitor enrolment the same as an administrator license?

No. DFPI distinguishes licensed programme administrators from enrolled solicitors and solicitor agents. Have the actual applicant role matched to the bond request.

Does the residential mortgage volume schedule automatically apply?

No. Section22112 ties its higher-bond authority to the stated mortgage-originator and residential-lending circumstances. Match the PACE business's actual activities.

Does a bond guarantee my home improvements or pay my assessment?

No. The statutory security addresses specified regulatory amounts and losses from the licensee's noncompliance; it is not blanket project or assessment insurance.

What if a claim reduces the security?

Section22112 requires replacement security after recovery and allows the commissioner to require a new bond when an action begins. Confirm the accepted replacement and filing deadlines.
