What this bond does

Addresses the requested security for Fort Worth parkway contractor registration and the covered city ROW work, using the form appropriate to the classification.

Who needs it
A contractor registering for covered Fort Worth parkway work, including curb, gutter, sidewalk or driveway construction and repair described in the Parkway Contractor's Bond.
Who it protects
The parkway form protects the city and contracting parties against imperfect or inadequate work and requires maintenance for two years after completion and city acceptance.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Choose the classification before the bond form

The current packet lists a $10,000 Parkway Contractor's Bond for residential registration and $25,000 security for commercial and utility registration. It includes both a $10,000 Parkway form and a $25,000 Street and Storm Drain form. Have Development Services identify the required form for your classification; do not submit the residential instrument for every ROW job.

Separate the registration period from maintenance

The included Parkway form describes curb, gutter, sidewalk and driveway work under §30-33. It provides a one-year general liability period, with maintenance of earlier work continuing for two years after completion and acceptance. Confirm the issued dates; expiration or cancellation does not simply erase the retained maintenance responsibility.

Prepare the registration package

Use the existing RLI option with the city request and classification in hand. The city's packet asks for the registration application, bond and power of attorney, plus separate liability insurance naming Fort Worth as an additional insured. Utility applicants have additional insurance requirements.

The packet provides in-person and Development Service Request routes. Submit the required issued documents for city review and obtain the job's applicable approval before work. A bond application is not contractor registration or a permit.

Questions about this bond

Is every Fort Worth parkway bond $10,000?

No. The current packet lists $10,000 for residential registration and $25,000 for commercial and utility registration. Confirm the classification and form before issuance.

Is two-year maintenance the same as a two-year bond term?

No. The included Parkway form separates its one-year general liability period from retained maintenance responsibility for two years after work is completed and accepted.

Does this replace the Street and Storm Drain bond?

Do not assume interchangeability. The city packet includes separately named forms. Use the one Development Services requires for the work and classification.
