Georgia — Commercial Third Party Tester Bond

Georgia DDS requires a $10,000 surety bond for each non-government CDL third-party tester location. Match the approved testing school or organization and the actual site. An individual Third Party Examiner's certification does not replace the tester organization's agreement or its location-specific security.

What this bond does

Maintain the non-government CDL tester's security for its DDS-approved testing location and agreement.

Who needs it
A Georgia CDL training program seeking or maintaining DDS third-party testing approval. The current program describes qualifying certified CDL schools and specified accredited public education programs; have DDS confirm eligibility before purchasing.
Who it protects
The posted DDS tester agreement requires State-determined security for driver re-testing after the tester or one of its examiners commits fraud. The tester rule and current program specify $10,000 per location, with a governmental-entity exception. Match that full accepted condition to the actual applicant and site.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Details for each CDL location and DDS application

The current CDL program describes a privately operated training school as fully DDS-certified for at least two calendar years without non-compliance before seeking tester approval. It separately identifies qualifying accredited public education programs. Obtain DDS's determination for the actual applicant rather than assuming a new training business can immediately become a tester.

DDS distinguishes the Third Party Tester organization from its certified Third Party Examiners. The tester signs its agreement and identifies associated examiners; the individuals have their own applications, training and certification requirements.

The $10,000 requirement is per location, not one statewide sum automatically covering every site. Coordinate the legal applicant, each certified location and its required security with DDS. Government-entity status must be actual; work for a school district does not by itself make a private contractor governmental.

The program requires approved testing ranges and primary/alternate road routes. Its current application instructions require online submission with all supporting documents and say paper applications are no longer accepted. Submit the accepted undertaking through the current DDS process rather than mailing an old application packet.

The tester agreement describes four-year authorizations and separate examiner agreements. That does not establish a four-year bond term. Match the undertaking's actual dates, execution and continuation with DDS and the provider while keeping the organization's site approvals and examiner certifications current.
