Illinois — Cigarette Machine Operator Bond

Illinois' cigarette-machine operator makes equipment available for customers to fabricate cigarettes for their own use. This roll-your-own operation requires its own registration and $2,500 bond per location; it is different from a vending machine selling finished packages.

What this bond does

Match the Cigarette Machine Operators' Occupation Tax activity and physical location to IDOR's REG-4-A financial-responsibility bond. The form's bond type must match the actual tax type.

Who needs it
Businesses possessing cigarette-making equipment and making it available to individuals for personal-use fabrication, not resale. Existing registration for another tax does not complete this machine-operator registration.
Who it protects
REG-4-A binds the principal and surety to Illinois' people for all amounts becoming due to IDOR under the selected law. Use the machine-operator tax responsibility rather than substituting cigarette-distributor stamp purchases or another tax account.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Details for an Illinois roll-your-own machine operator

IDOR defines the activity by possession of making/fabricating equipment and making it available to individuals for their own consumption. Its programme requires REG-1 and REG-1-C even when the business already has another tax registration, with separate security for each location.

Use the physical business location and legal name exactly as registered. The REG-4-A instructions reject a mailing address or PO box in place of the actual business location.

Original signatures, seals and an original power of attorney are required; copies or faxes are not accepted proof of coverage. Corporations normally need president/secretary signatures, partnerships two partners, sole proprietors one signature, and LLCs one manager/member signature. Follow the specific one-person corporate-officer exception when applicable.

The surety attorney-in-fact must sign and be named in the attached authority. An independent-agent countersignature is required only in the circumstances identified by the instructions. The model permits conditional cancellation through registered/certified written notice filed with IDOR and a ninety-day period, preserving earlier liability and liability accruing before that period ends.

The programme requires monthly RYO-1 and machine/product schedules by the following month's fifteenth, with payment. Keep those filings and current delivery directions separate from original-bond registration filing.

Purchase Now opens Propeller's Illinois machine-operator application in a new tab. Match the legal operator, physical location, tax responsibility, $2,500 security and dates, then complete IDOR original-document registration. Provider payment does not issue the license or establish every other permission the business may need.
