What this bond does

Support the Village of LaGrange contractor registration or licensing obligation, rather than a countywide license or a general promise to finish every project.

Who needs it
Contractors and builders whose Village registration requires the license bond described in Section 1312.05(a).
Who it protects
The license bond is payable to the Village and conditioned on faithful observance of its building/zoning regulations. The same code separately allows a performance bond when notified violations are not corrected; the equal $10,000 amounts do not make those obligations interchangeable.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Check which $10,000 obligation you were asked to provide

A routine license-bond request belongs to Section 1312.05(a). A request following failure to correct or abate a violation may concern the separate performance security described in subsection (b). Have the actual Village request ready before applying rather than matching on amount alone.

The code provides one annual contractor registration for multiple types of work, but separately addresses licenses for HVAC, electrical, plumbing and sewer work. One registration is not automatic approval of every trade. The Village's website provides distinct new and renewal forms and says completed registration materials must return to Village Hall.

Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. Match the Village recipient, applicant, license-bond purpose, $10,000 request and actual dates. After issuance, complete the accepted form's execution and return the bond with the applicable Village materials. The code's December 31 registration expiration does not establish every condition or date on the issued bond.

  4. After issuance: complete execution and return the applicable registration materials to Village Hall.

Questions about this bond

Are the two $10,000 bonds in the code the same?

No. Section 1312.05(a) describes the license bond. Subsection (b) addresses performance security the Village may require after a failure to correct notified violations.

Does one registration license every trade?

The code allows one annual contractor registration for multiple work types but separately requires licenses for the specified HVAC, electrical, plumbing and sewer activities.

Does this authorize work throughout Lorain County?

This is the Village of LaGrange obligation. It does not establish authority to work under another municipality's or a county department's requirements.
