Lawrence, IN — Right Of Way Bond

Lawrence's current ROW guidance requires three-year maintenance security: $10,000 for a specific location or at least $100,000 blanket for all locations per calendar year. Match the City's maintenance form and actual scope before ordering this generically labeled ROW offering.

What this bond does

Security matching the actual Lawrence ROW maintenance request, not a substitute for contractor registration or work approval.

Who needs it
The contractor/principal for the actual ROW excavation/use request, with the covered location or accepted blanket work identified.
Who it protects
The posted form secures correction of defective materials/workmanship after completion and Owner acceptance, includes default/completion remedies and limits action to the City Owner/successors. It is not a general private-project payment guarantee.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Use the maintenance instrument and correct coverage

The current Building Department page distinguishes $10,000 location-specific and at least $100,000 blanket maintenance bonds, both three-year. Its linked template names City of Lawrence as Owner/obligee and incorporates the actual ROW excavation permit, location, plans and specifications.

The template's three-year defect period runs from completion and City acceptance. The separate work requirements describe maintaining the cut for three years after traffic resumes. Record the actual work and acceptance dates and obtain City direction; do not choose the earlier event as automatic release or mistake calendar-year blanket scope for a one-year maintenance obligation.

Activate the approved permit separately from purchase

The City's work-requirements sheet gives a 60-day permit period from approval and requires activation by notifying DPW at least 24 hours before ROW work. It separately addresses utility locates, traffic protection, restoration and the applicant's responsibilities. A maintenance bond does not replace these work conditions.

Purchase Now opens Propeller; the option displays no fixed amount or term. Have the issuer and City confirm the required maintenance wording, legal principal/City recipient, sum, actual location/blanket scope and dates. Arrange execution and accepted filing using the actual City's instructions.

Complete the separate online permit process, obtain approval and activate it as required. Follow actual work, completion/acceptance and continuing defect-correction conditions rather than treating the 60-day permit expiry as surety release.

Questions about this bond

Does the calendar-year blanket scope mean one-year maintenance?

No. The City describes three-year maintenance bonds and separately identifies blanket locations per calendar year. Match the accepted scope and issued conditions.

Is the 60-day work permit the bond term?

No. Permit validity/activation and maintenance security have separate conditions. The option displays no fixed provider term.

Does a generic ROW name prove the City maintenance template is supplied?

No. Obtain issuer/City confirmation of the actual maintenance form, sum, location or blanket coverage and acceptance before relying on it.
