What this bond does

Support the named contractor's 2026 City of Lyndhurst registration under Chapter 1352.

Who needs it
Contractors preparing the City's registration/bonding application for their actual trades, with any authorized permit agents listed separately.
Who it protects
The instrument secures the specified ordinance duties and lawful City orders for building, underground and public-right-of-way work. It benefits the City and parties damaged by the stated failure to comply; its action period is not the same as the registration year.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Use the contractor form and December 31 registration year

The contractor application says all registrations expire December 31 and permits one bond for multiple trades. Use the actual $20,000 instrument, seal and required execution authority. The contractor cover has an extra-zero amount typo; the bond itself spells out Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000).

Have the applicant/DBA, selected trades and authorized agents ready for application. Liability evidence naming the City additional insured and applicable trade credentials are separate registration materials. A business-occupancy renewal date is not the contractor registration deadline.

Purchase Now opens RLI in a new tab. Match the Lyndhurst 2026 bond, principal, $20,000 and year before proceeding. After issuance, check signatures, seal and power of attorney or required evidence of authority, then follow the City's accepted registration route. The packet describes mailing and Citizenserve renewal; the RLI application is not the City renewal or issuance of a City license.

  4. For City registration: assemble the separate insurance and applicable credentials and use the accepted submission route.

Questions about this bond

Does each trade need a separate bond?

The 2026 contractor packet says one bond is needed for registrations of more than one trade. You still need the actual trades identified and the applicable registration evidence.

Why does the cover show an extra zero?

The cover's amount contains an extra zero, but the actual registration instrument states Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000). Use the accepted City instrument and confirm any conflicting request before execution.

Does the two-year action period extend my registration?

No. The bond allows the specified action within two years after registration expires. The contractor application separately says registrations expire December 31.
