Macedonia, OH — Contractor's License Bond

Macedonia distinguishes a $25,000 general-contractor bond from a $10,000 subcontractor bond. Match your City registration role before continuing to RLI; the contractor license name alone does not decide which request applies.

What this bond does

Match the applicant's actual Macedonia contractor classification to the City's bond requirement before issuance.

Who needs it
Applicants using Macedonia's contractor/subcontractor registration application and confirming whether their request is for the general or subcontractor role.
Who it protects
The published code binds the principal and surety to the City and property owners within the City on whose premises the contractor has contracted to work. The accepted instrument determines its conditions; this is separate from liability insurance.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Use the classification in your City request

The two bond amounts are tied to different roles, not two interchangeable choices for the same registration. Have the City's classification and the company's exact identity ready, then confirm the RLI application matches that request before completing it.

The City accepts the insurance company's generic bond form and requests a new bond or copy of a current bond when registering; continuation certificates are also acceptable. It lists the liability certificate, RITA Form 48 and applicable State credentials separately. Registration expires December 31, which does not by itself establish the bond's cancellation or continuation terms.

Purchase Now opens RLI in a new tab. After the correct form is issued, check execution and provide the bond with the City registration package. If mailing the City's contractor application, follow its instruction not to include your Social Security number there; the provider's own application is separate. City registration and permission for particular work are not completed by provider checkout.

Questions about this bond

Can a general contractor use the $10,000 amount?

The published City requirement assigns $25,000 to general contractors and $10,000 to subcontractors. Use the classification the City requires for your actual registration.

Must the bond use a City-designed blank?

The registration packet says to use the insurance company's generic bond forms. The form must still match the City's actual request.

Are continuation certificates accepted?

Yes. The packet accepts continuation certificates and also describes a new bond or copy of a current bond when submitting registration.
