Macedonia, OH — Subcontractor Registration Bond

Macedonia's subcontractor registration requires a $10,000 bond. A general contractor's separate $25,000 requirement does not replace your own subcontractor registration materials.

What this bond does

Prepare the bond for the applicant's City of Macedonia subcontractor registration and actual work classifications.

Who needs it
Subcontractors completing their own company/owner and trade details on Macedonia's contractor/subcontractor application.
Who it protects
The published bond rule binds principal and surety to the City and property owners within the City where the contractor has contracted to work. The insurer's accepted instrument supplies the detailed obligation; the bond is separate from your liability certificate.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Apply under your own subcontractor identity

Have your own company's legal name, owner and actual work categories ready. Macedonia's application allows the relevant categories to be checked, while the bond amount follows the subcontractor role. Do not use the general contractor's identity or assume its registration registers your company.

The City uses insurance-company generic bond forms and accepts continuation certificates as well as a new bond or copy of a current bond. Separate liability, RITA and applicable State-license material still belongs in your package. The RITA subcontractor list is tax information, not a substitute for your own contractor registration.

Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. Confirm the subcontractor form, City recipient, your principal identity, $10,000 and actual dates. After issuance, complete execution and submit the accepted bond evidence with your City application. Registration expires December 31, but an application to Propeller does not issue that registration or prove the work has the necessary permit.

Sources

Have these ready

  1. For application: identify your own subcontractor company and owner.
  2. For application: match the $10,000 role, covered work and required dates.
  3. For registration: prepare your own supporting evidence, not only a general contractor's RITA list.
  4. After issuance: check execution and submit the new/current bond or accepted continuation with the City package.

Questions about this bond

Am I registered because the general contractor is registered?

Macedonia's packet applies to contractors and subcontractors and gives a separate subcontractor bond requirement. Complete the application for your own company.

Is $25,000 required because I work for a general contractor?

The published requirement assigns $10,000 to the subcontractor role and $25,000 to the general-contractor role. Match the classification the City assigns to your business.

Does appearing on the RITA subcontractor list complete registration?

No. That is part of the tax material. Your City contractor/subcontractor application and required bond evidence are separate.
