What this bond does

Support the applicant's City of Mentor registration for the actual covered trade or trades under the City requirement.

Who needs it
General and trade contractors matching their company, applicant and selected registrations to Mentor's application.
Who it protects
The City instrument secures specified ordinance duties and lawful City orders for the covered work and benefits the City and parties injured by noncompliance. Its two-year action period runs from the date of the bond, not two years after registration expiration.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Count the actual trade registrations

The application says $10,000 for each trade registration, with an express tree-contractor exception. Have the company, applicant and exact trades ready and confirm the form and total requirement for multiple trades; do not assume one flat $10,000 covers them all.

The bond requires its number, principal/surety execution and evidence of authority when an agent signs. Separate liability, municipal income-tax registration and applicable State specialty credentials belong in the registration package. Registrations expire December 31; that date is different from the instrument's two-year action deadline.

Purchase Now opens RLI in a new tab. Match the City form, trades, principal, amount and registration year. After issuance, check execution, seal and any required power of attorney. The paper application says to mail all required information together, while the current permits page encourages Mentor Gateway; confirm how the City wants the original bond delivered rather than assuming an upload waives it.

Sources

  4. For City registration: assemble separate evidence and confirm original-bond delivery instructions.
