What this bond does

Provide the Small Loan security required for the company's licensed Mississippi lending operations without substituting a Consumer Loan Broker, Check Casher or Title Pledge obligation.

Who needs it
Small Loan applicants and licensees with Mississippi physical offices, arranging their company electronic surety bond and the correct total for licensed locations.
Who it protects
Section 75-67-211 runs the bond to Mississippi and secures lawful lending operations, departmental rules and applicable statutory debts to the state, local governments and persons or businesses. A person with a right of action may sue in the state's name for that person's benefit; not every loan loss creates a claim.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Details

The Department's Small Loan requirements specify a Mississippi physical office and $1,000 security for the licensing period. Separate offices require separate licenses. Its electronic-bond instructions require the company bond total to cover the initial requirement and branches, including applicable riders. Match the actual licensed locations rather than assuming one $1,000 entry covers an unlimited branch network.

The Department's electronic-bond conversion instructions make these bonds perpetual, add a cancellation clause and require changes through NMLS. Hard copies should not be mailed and notarization is not required for this electronic process. Section 75-67-233 permits an additional bond if security is insecure or exhausted; surrendering a license does not erase accrued liability under Section 75-67-235.

Purchase Now opens Propeller's Mississippi Small Loan application in a new tab. Bring the Department's current request, accepted electronic form, exact company and NMLS record, branch list, required total and dates. Confirm these before paying. Grant the producer the necessary NMLS authority; an MU2 Direct Owner/Executive Officer must attest and submit the prepared bond. Complete the separate license application or renewal and retain acceptance.

Questions about this bond

Does one $1,000 bond automatically cover every branch?

No. The electronic-bond instructions require the total to include the initial obligation and all branches. Match the Department's request and actual licensed-location list.

Must the electronic bond expire each December?

The license period is January 1–December 31, but the Department's electronic-bond instructions make the bond perpetual with cancellation provisions. Do not turn annual renewal into an assumed bond term.

Should I mail and notarize the electronic bond?

The posted conversion instructions say hard copies should no longer be mailed and notarization is not required for this electronic process. Follow the current NMLS instructions for the accepted form.

Does the producer's preparation finish the filing?

No. An MU2 Direct Owner/Executive Officer must attest and submit the prepared bond. Also complete the separate Small Loan licensing or renewal requirements.
