What this bond does

Moraine's security supports permitted right-of-way work and restoration under its city requirements. Individual-project security and a $10,000 annual alternative are addressed separately in the published bond requirements.

Who needs it
The project owner or contractor arranging security for work in Moraine, Ohio right-of-way, with contractors and subcontractors registered as required.
Who it protects
The form benefits the City of Moraine and addresses compliance with permit rules and restoration to the city's satisfaction. Surety liability is limited to the penal sum, but the work's maintenance period depends on activity and final inspection.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Identify the work and permit participants

The application asks for the applicant, contractor, subcontractors and their Moraine registration details, location, activity and schedule. Its subjects include aprons, sidewalks, gas, communication/fiber, storm sewer, water and sanitary sewer work.

For water-line and sanitary-sewer work, the application directs applicants to contact Montgomery County in addition to Moraine. County utility involvement does not replace the city ROW permit or establish the city bond's recipient.

Choose individual or annual security with the city

The posted requirements allow a $10,000 annual bond instead of individual-project bonds, with a greater amount possible when restoration exposure exceeds that sum and a lesser amount at the Engineer's discretion. Obtain the amount applicable to your request rather than assuming $10,000 fits every job.

The condition requires two years from final inspection for pavement cuts or bores under pavement and one year for other permits, with restoration to city satisfaction before release. An annual renewal certificate may continue the instrument; an annual label does not shorten those work-specific duties. The requirements say AIA bonds are not acceptable.

File the correct instrument and arrange inspections

Purchase Now opens Propeller's existing Moraine Right of Way Permit Bond application. Provide the city's requested Work Within the City of Moraine Right-of-Way condition, sum and dates. Check the issued document before providing it through the city's permit process.

The application asks applicants to allow seven to ten business days for processing and notify the Engineer at least 24 hours before starting. It requires inspection before and during backfilling and at completion. Provider issuance does not complete registration, approve the permit or release restoration security.

Questions about this bond

Is the annual bond always enough at $10,000?

The requirements allow that annual alternative but reserve a greater amount for greater restoration exposure and discretionary lesser security. Confirm the required sum with the Engineer.

When does the two-year period apply?

The form specifies two years from final inspection for pavement cuts or bores under pavement. Other permits have a one-year final-inspection condition.

Can an AIA performance form be substituted?

The city's bond requirements expressly say AIA bonds are not acceptable. Have the provider match the required ROW instrument.

Does sanitary-sewer work require only Moraine approval?

The application directs applicants to contact Montgomery County as well as Moraine for sanitary-sewer and water-line work. Confirm each office's role.
