What this bond does

The city's ROW process covers identified work and occupancy affecting public right-of-way. The bond request is part of that project review, distinct from contractor registration, road closures and special-hauling permission.

Who needs it
The permit holder or responsible applicant arranging New Albany, Ohio right-of-way work, including utility owners working through consultants and contractors.
Who it protects
The application requires city-standard restoration to like or better condition. Its performance-bond line leaves the sum for city determination; the accepted instrument must define the full secured condition and release requirements.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Distinguish occupancy from excavation

The September 2026 form distinguishes occupancy without excavation, excavation in pavement and excavation outside pavement. Identify each affected street, work type, utility status, proposed structures and pedestrian or traffic impacts, and attach the requested exhibit and CAD/PDF plans.

The form separately records the permit holder, utility owner, consultant, contractor and subcontractor and requires direct knowledgeable contacts. Confirm the correct bond principal rather than automatically using the consultant who submits the paperwork.

Obtain the city's bond amount and condition

The performance-bond amount is blank for the city to specify. Ask Public Service for the accepted form, recipient, sum, dates and restoration/release conditions before applying; the document does not supply a universal bond minimum or annual renewal date.

The form describes six-month application validity and six-month permit validity after issuance, with extension requests addressed separately. Neither clock establishes a six-month bond term. It also requires registration and insurance evidence, which bond issuance does not replace.

Confirm the submission route, then file the bond

Purchase Now opens Propeller's existing New Albany Right of Way Permit Bond application. Match the city request, review the issued bond and provide it as Public Service directs. The city's forms page announces a November 1 transition to Accela; confirm the current ROW submission instructions instead of assuming the provider application submits a permit.

The September form asks for a preliminary schedule and a final schedule 14 working days before the proposed start. Lane closure requires at least five business days' notice, with traffic information and full-road closures discussed with Public Service. Obtain city permission and project-specific conditions separately from arranging security.

Questions about this bond

Does New Albany publish a fixed bond minimum on this form?

No. The September 2026 application says the performance-bond amount is specified by the city.

Does a six-month permit mean a six-month bond?

No. Application validity, issued-permit validity and the security condition are separate. Obtain the accepted bond's dates and release terms.

Should the consultant always be the bond principal?

No. The form distinguishes the permit holder, utility owner, consultant and contractors. Have the city identify the responsible principal.

Does this provider application submit the city permit?

No. The city has its own submission process and announces an Accela transition. Confirm the current Public Service instructions and file the issued bond through that process.
