What this bond does

This is security for the County Department of Land Use's permit-endorsed Decorative Appliance license file, not a City of New Castle business-license document.

Who needs it
Contractors applying in the County's Decorative Appliance category, which includes gas and/or solid-fuel appliances.
Who it protects
The County form backs compliance, correction of covered violations and specified County charges and protection. It does not replace the contractor's separate liability insurance or establish eligibility for a different trade.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Match the appliance classification and license holder

The County checklist asks for the license holder's current National Fireplace Institute certificate for gas and/or solid fuel. Match that credential to the classification in your application rather than treating this as a general HVACR license.

The checklist also calls for a license-holder acknowledgement when the holder is not a principal listed on the company application. Keep the business entity's name and address consistent across the license application and bond.

Check the fixed dates before applying

The County's 2026 form states a January 1, 2026–January 1, 2027 license period, an effective date of January 1, 2026 or later, and January 1, 2027 expiration. It may not be continued past that expiration date.

Do not read “2025–2026” as a fresh two-year term beginning at checkout. The existing option does not publish a term. Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab; arrange the County's unmodified accepted form, check the issued dates and signatures, then complete the County license file.

Have these ready

  1. Have the County's Decorative Appliance classification and $10,000 form instructions.
  2. Match the sole proprietor or business entity name and address to the license application.
  3. Have the current NFI gas and/or solid-fuel credential and applicable license-holder acknowledgement.
  4. Keep the 2026 Delaware business license and liability insurance separate from the bond.
  5. Check principal/surety execution, legible seal, attorney-in-fact authority and fixed expiration.

Questions about this bond

Does the title promise two years from my purchase date?

No. The County's posted 2026 form has a fixed January 1, 2027 expiration and cannot be continued past it. Match the accepted form and issued dates; the provider card itself does not publish a term.

Is this the City of New Castle's business-license bond?

No. This page addresses the County Department of Land Use's Decorative Appliance category. Match the County recipient and class instead of substituting a city business-license document.

Does the bond replace the NFI certificate or insurance?

No. The County checklist treats the license-holder credential, liability insurance and statutory compliance bond as separate parts of the application.
