What this bond does

Supply the accepted small loan security while keeping the company's NMLS licensing, financial statements and positive net worth separate.

Who needs it
Small loan applicants and licensees serving New Hampshire consumers, including internet businesses and companies with offices outside the state.
Who it protects
The statute makes the bond payable to New Hampshire and its bank commissioner for people damaged by violations of the chapter, conditioned on the licensee's compliance. The surety's obligations survive the licensee's bankruptcy and the other specified insolvency proceedings.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Details

The Banking Department directs small loan licensing and changes through NMLS. Its explanation includes entities generating leads, taking applications or brokering through a financial institution, funding loans and holding servicing rights. Identify each actual role, the legal company and trade name, principal office and branches. A bank funding the loan does not by itself settle the intermediary's own licensing question.

Complete Section399-A:4 requires continuous $25,000 security, thirty days' advance written cancellation or termination notice and the stated six-year claim or suit period measured from the underlying act. It requires a new bond when an action starts and immediately after recovery. These are separate from the positive-net-worth test and license renewal, and the claim period is not a six-year purchase term.

Purchase Now opens Propeller's New Hampshire Small Loan Lender application in a new tab. Bring the current Department request, company and trade names, NMLS identifiers, role and office list, accepted form, required sum and dates. Match them before paying. Arrange execution, confirm accepted bond delivery and receipt, complete the separate NMLS license or amendment and retain Department acceptance. Maintain required security rather than relying on a pending renewal or assuming the licensing portal establishes the bond's filing method.

Questions about this bond

Does bank funding automatically remove the broker's licensing question?

No. The Department includes brokering or taking an application while a financial institution funds the loan among activities to review under RSA399-A.

Does the $25,000 bond replace positive net worth?

No. Section399-A:4 separately requires financial information and positive net worth, as well as the bond.

Does the six-year claim period set a six-year product term?

No. It concerns a State claim or suit naming the licensee measured from the act. Match the actual continuous security and accepted dates separately.

Can I defer replacement until the license renews?

No. The statute calls for a new bond when an action begins and immediately after recovery. Confirm accepted replacement without waiting for annual renewal.
