What this bond does
Match the State Tax Department's cigarette-agent security request under section 472 of the Tax Law. Approval to buy stamps on credit is separate from paying for the bond.
- Who needs it
- Individuals responding to New York State cigarette-agent/stamp-credit security requirements. A wholesale-dealer license alone does not establish the agent's credit authorization.
- Who it protects
- When required, section 472 security covers payment of any sums due from the agent under Article 20. The protected obligation is New York State's cigarette-tax revenue, not a guarantee of the individual's business debts.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Questions about this bond
Does buying the bond guarantee thirty days of credit?
Section 472 permits discretionary credit for no more than thirty days. Actual State approval and purchasing terms remain separate.
Can a corporate owner choose the individual application?
Match the legal principal. An owner signing for a corporation does not turn the corporation's tax obligation into an individual-principal bond.
Can I use the City's stamp-credit notice terms?
This is the State cigarette-agent request. The City's separately named obligation does not establish the State instrument's recipient, period or execution.
