What this bond does

Provide the security for a corporation negotiating or making non-mortgage loans or advances under Pennsylvania's Consumer Discount Company Act.

Who needs it
Consumer Discount Company applicants and licensed corporations maintaining that non-mortgage authority, rather than mortgage consumer discount companies or motor-vehicle sales finance businesses.
Who it protects
The published undertaking runs to the Commonwealth and secures the Act, departmental rules and money due to the Commonwealth, Department or persons injured by the principal's acts or omissions under the Act. It does not insure every credit loss or the lender's own portfolio.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Details

The Department's Consumer Discount Company programme covers corporations negotiating or making non-mortgage loans or advances on credit. Its published bond specifies $5,000 and an acceptable Pennsylvania-authorized surety. Do not substitute the $10,000 motor-vehicle Sales Finance Company bond or a mortgage-license form because the business also lends money.

The published undertaking continues indefinitely subject to cancellation, not automatic annual expiration. It specifies 30-day written cancellation notice filed with the Secretary, retains liability for transactions before cancellation and caps aggregate surety liability at $5,000 across years and claimants. The default procedure gives the surety 30 days after notice of a Secretary-declared default to pay; buying a bond is not a promise of payment for every complaint.

Purchase Now opens Propeller's Pennsylvania Consumer Discount Company application in a new tab. Bring the Department's written request, currently accepted form, exact corporation and licensing record, required $5,000 sum and effective date. Confirm the non-mortgage license, surety and execution details before paying. Complete the DoBS Portal license application and bond submission as instructed, review the issued evidence and retain acceptance; payment does not grant lending authority.

Questions about this bond

Is this for a mortgage Consumer Discount Company?

No. The Department distinguishes non-mortgage Consumer Discount Companies from mortgage licensees. Match the actual licensing request before choosing a form.

Can the motor-vehicle finance bond replace this one?

Not merely because the applicant makes loans. The published Consumer Discount Company bond is $5,000 under its own Act; the Sales Finance Company bond addresses a different license.

Does the published bond reset its limit every year?

No. The model's aggregate liability remains limited to its penal sum regardless of the number of years in force or claimants. It continues indefinitely subject to its cancellation provisions.

Does the current license application use NMLS?

The Department's current non-mortgage Consumer Discount Company instructions direct applicants to the DoBS Portal. Do not import the separate mortgage programme's NMLS route.
