What this bond does

Supply the surety evidence for the City's applicable competency registration, separate from State credentials and inspections.

Who needs it
The business and licensed people registering the particular gas, plumbing, electrical or mechanical discipline.
Who it protects
Match the accepted City registration instrument and its conditions. The surety is separate from liability insurance and workers' compensation evidence and is not itself a permit or an automatic performance/payment guarantee for every job.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Register the right people for the discipline

The application separates business name/contact from the license holder and permits more than one discipline for an individual's registration number. The City directs plumbing, gas and mechanical businesses to register the owner and employees performing the work; electrical registration is for the person holding the company license.

Those individual registrations do not by themselves prove each employee must buy another separate bond. Confirm the accepted principal and surety evidence for the company and actual discipline. The no-employees workers' compensation alternative is not stated as a surety waiver.

Finish annual registration before relying on inspection access

The current competency page says registration is annual and inspections will not be made if renewal is incomplete. Do not use an application upload or bond payment as proof that City registration has been renewed. Annual competency registration also does not establish this provider option's term.

Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. Check the business/license holder, discipline, City request, required sum and dates before applying. After issuance, check execution and supply the bond with the separate registration evidence using the City's current directions. Confirm who receives registration paperwork and who schedules the inspection rather than treating those as the same submission.

Have these ready

  1. Identify the business and each person the particular discipline requires to register.
  2. Match the City registration type to the accepted $5,000 request and actual dates.
  3. Keep insurance/WC evidence separate; a no-employees form is not a bond waiver.
  4. Check City registration renewal and inspection arrangements after surety issuance.

Questions about this bond

Are all employees registered the same way for every trade?

No. The City distinguishes plumbing/gas/mechanical owner and worker registration from electrical registration of the company license holder.

Does each individual registration prove another bond purchase is required?

No. Confirm the accepted principal and bond evidence for the actual company/discipline instead of multiplying purchases from registration-card counts.

Does a purchased bond guarantee an inspection?

No. The City requires completed competency renewal before inspections; surety issuance does not complete registration or schedule an inspection.
