Reminderville, OH — Contractor's Bond

Reminderville's registration application calls for the $5,000 Performance bond furnished by the City. Use its contractor-registration instrument with the actual principal, rather than treating that label as a request for a separate project payment bond.

What this bond does

Support the contractor's City of Reminderville registration using the City's own Contractor Bond.

Who needs it
Contractors and subcontractors registering their work; general contractors also checking their responsibility for subcontractor registration and RITA notification.
Who it protects
The form addresses specified damage to the City and parties contracting with the contractor or subcontractor when the contracted work fails to comply with Reminderville's Building Code and lawful rules. It does not replace liability insurance or the separate construction deposit mentioned in the application.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Match the City bond and each contractor's registration

Have the company, contact/position, work type and experience ready. The application has fields referring to other City licenses and bond requirements, but those fields alone do not authorize using another city's bond. Match the Reminderville recipient on its $5,000 form and confirm any claimed alternative with the Building Department.

All licenses expire December 31 of the issue year under the application. Confirm the actual start/end entries on the bond. The application separately requires liability evidence naming Reminderville additional insured and makes the general contractor responsible for subcontractor registration and notifying RITA of their presence.

Purchase Now opens RLI in a new tab. Match the City form, principal, $5,000 and accepted period. After issuance, check the principal, surety and attorney-in-fact execution and return the required package to the Building Department. A registration delivery by email or envelope is not proof every issued bond may be filed by email; confirm the bond's actual delivery instructions.

Sources

Have these ready

  1. For application: match exact company/principal, work type and City form.
  2. Before issuance: confirm the $5,000 request and actual registration-period dates.
  3. For registration: assemble separate insurance and subcontractor/RITA information where applicable.
  4. After issuance: check execution and the Building Department's bond-delivery instructions.

Questions about this bond

Why does the registration application say Performance bond?

That is its label for the City's $5,000 registration security. Read the actual Contractor Bond's code/work-damage conditions rather than substituting a project payment form.

Does naming another City license prove its bond is accepted?

No. The application's reference fields do not by themselves establish an alternative recipient or form. Confirm any proposed substitute with Reminderville.

Does the general contractor's registration register every subcontractor?

The City requires contractors and subcontractors to be registered. The application makes the general contractor responsible for subcontractor registration and RITA notification, not automatic inclusion under one registration.
