Washington — Aircraft Dealer Bond

Prepare your Washington aircraft-dealer security for WSDOT Aviation, rather than a vehicle-dealer or boat-dealer application. The State's aircraft dealer packet includes a $25,000 bond and requires the original executed instrument.

What this bond does

Supply the licensing security described in Washington's aircraft-dealer packet. Aircraft inventory and dealer-license paperwork remain separate parts of the filing.

Who needs it
An aircraft business applying for or renewing a Washington dealer license, including a business acting as an aircraft broker under the packet's definition.
Who it protects
The published form binds the dealer and surety to the State of Washington for the stated licensing obligations and State costs or damages from default. It does not insure the aircraft against physical damage.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Keep the dealer bond with the Aviation filing

WSDOT's packet calls for an original Aircraft Dealer's License Bond with power of attorney. It separately requests notarized license applications and an inventory of aircraft offered for sale. An FAA number belongs in the aircraft inventory; it is not a substitute for the dealer's legal name on the bond.

The published bond identifies the State as recipient and has a license-period starting date. Its continuation and cancellation language should not be confused with the calendar-year dealer license. Use the current Aviation instructions for your branch or subagency rather than borrowing a motor-vehicle dealer form.

Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. Check the dealer, State recipient, required form and dates there. After issuance, complete the original-document filing with WSDOT Aviation; online payment does not issue the dealer license.

Questions about this bond

Is this a bond for a particular aircraft's title?

This offering concerns the aircraft dealer's licensing obligation. WSDOT requests aircraft inventory separately, including FAA numbers. A title or ownership request for one aircraft should not be substituted for the dealer instrument.

Does buying the bond complete the license application?

No. WSDOT's packet also calls for license applications and inventory documents. Review its current instructions and deliver the required original bond; the provider application is not the State's licensing decision.

Where does Purchase Now take me?

The button opens Propeller. Match the issued form to the Aviation request, then follow WSDOT's filing directions. This page does not display a selectable bond amount or term.
