What this bond does

Provide the continuous State contractor registration bond for the correct General or Specialty class.

Who needs it
Washington businesses matching their Department of Revenue identity, UBI and selected Specialty where applicable to L&I registration.
Who it protects
The actual continuous bond is payable to State of Washington and addresses statutory labor/benefits, contract-work claims, suppliers/equipment and State taxes/contributions under RCW 18.27.040. It has an aggregate limit; renewal does not reset that limit or make it a separate guarantee for every job.

Choose from 2 options

Each option is a separate record. Where a term, bond amount, premium, or E&O limit is known, it is listed; match it to what your requirement asks for.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Choose the class, then confirm filing

Both displayed provider offerings include General and Specialty in their titles. They are not one General-only and one Specialty-only option. Match L&I's actual classification and required sum with the chosen provider. Registration does not replace additional trade authorizations where required.

Use the exact DOR-registered business/DBA on the application, bond and insurance. The continuous form requires a bond number and effective/filing dates; UBI and registration-number fields on that form are marked optional. Do not assume a continuous bond has a fixed one-year duration.

Purchase Now opens the selected provider in a new tab. Confirm who submits the issued bond and how L&I accepts it. The E-Filed label is not proof that every provider handles delivery or that original-document requirements are waived: L&I's published instructions call for signed originals and a separately notarized registration application. After issuance, check filing and the L&I record rather than assume checkout activates registration.

Questions about this bond

Are the two provider choices divided into General and Specialty?

Their titles each include both classes. Select the required class and sum with the chosen provider.

Does E-Filed mean my full registration is already complete?

No. Confirm actual bond delivery and L&I acceptance, plus the separate registration application and insurance requirements.

Does renewal create a fresh aggregate bond limit?

The actual continuous form says continuation, reinstatement, reissue or renewal does not increase the surety's aggregate liability.
