What this bond does

Supports satisfactory performance of the work identified in West Jordan's encroachment permit and agreement.

Who needs it
Contractors and permittees undertaking construction, maintenance or traffic-obstructing work affecting West Jordan city right-of-way, easements or utility systems.
Who it protects
The permit retains restoration and compliance obligations to West Jordan. The accepted bond defines the financial security; it does not authorize work outside the approved area or grant access to private property.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

State the required period without guessing the start date

The current application requires a performance bond for a three-year period and says the period must appear on the bond. It does not provide a universal amount or a clear warranty commencement formula in that paragraph.

Ask Engineering to confirm the required amount and effective/end dates for the actual work. Do not turn the three-year wording into an assumed annual renewal, a cancellation deadline or permission to work for three years.

Prepare the location-specific permit file

Identify the permittee, contractor, work description, site dimensions and schedule. The checklist calls for a certified traffic control plan, an engineer-stamped bore profile for roadway crossings and a site map showing ROW/PUE offsets, existing utilities, alignment and depth.

Workers' compensation and liability insurance are separate requirements. The city requires additional-insured protection for its listed parties; simply purchasing this bond does not supply that coverage or any other necessary permit.

Obtain approval and document restoration

The city directs saved-PDF applications and inquiries to Wjrow@WestJordan.Utah.gov, not personal staff emails. After provider issuance through the existing Propeller option, submit the bond and application documents through those instructions and wait for approval.

Give the city's required start notice, ordinarily at least 24 hours, with longer notice for specified affected services or closures. The agreement calls for restoration to original or better condition within ten working days of the utility tie-in or bore and says the permit remains open until final inspection and Engineering acceptance.

Questions about this bond

Is there a fixed amount on this page?

No. The reviewed application requires a three-year performance bond but does not state a universal amount. Obtain Engineering's current instructions for your work.

Does the bond permit access to adjoining private property?

No. West Jordan's agreement expressly requires separate property-owner permission and limits work to the approved areas.

Is the permit closed when the contractor leaves?

No. The agreement says closeout requires final inspection and acceptance by the Engineering Inspector. Retain that record and confirm any continuing bond obligations separately.
