How a fidelity bond works

Fidelity protection responds to covered dishonest acts. The form identifies whose money or property is protected, the covered persons, and the applicable limits.

What this bond does

The bond covers defined fraud or dishonesty losses involving plan funds or property handled by covered people.

Who needs it
Plan sponsors and administrators arranging bonding for handlers of assets in ERISA-covered plans, where the federal requirement applies.
Who is protected
The plan must be named or otherwise specifically identified as an insured party. This bond does not substitute for fiduciary liability insurance.

Choose from 2 options

Each option is a separate record. Where a term, bond amount, premium, or E&O limit is known, it is listed; match it to what your requirement asks for.

The coverage amount describes a limit of protection, not the price. Match the requested protection and covered persons to the actual fidelity form. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Choose a term with the required amount in mind

Determine the amount with your plan adviser using the plan's handling activities and circumstances. The available 36-month and 12-month labels describe duration; neither supplies an amount to use for every plan.

Federal ERISA rules apply to this product. The Arkansas label does not establish a separate state requirement. Check the insured plan, covered handlers and effective dates in the application before completing it.

Questions about this bond

Is a three-year term automatically enough protection?

Term length alone does not establish adequacy. The amount, covered people and policy wording must fit the plan's needs.

Is the employer the protected party?

The protection is for the employee benefit plan against covered fraud or dishonesty affecting its funds or property.

Can I use fiduciary liability insurance instead?

No. Fiduciary liability insurance addresses breaches of duties and does not satisfy ERISA's fidelity bonding requirement.

What happens after selecting Purchase Now?
