Burr Ridge, IL — Contractor License Bond

Burr Ridge's licensing instructions list $10,000 surety security, named subcontractor coverage and an exempt-contractor row. Confirm your class before applying through Propeller; the Village's separate permit cash bonds are not this license instrument.

What this bond does

Prepare the license-related surety requested by Burr Ridge for a contractor or subcontractor subject to that requirement.

Who needs it
Burr Ridge contractor registrants or license applicants in the Village's surety-required category, not automatically every exempt credential holder.
Who it protects
The Village says the surety must name it as Bond Holder/Indemnitee and protect against damages to public ways, the Village and persons. The actual accepted instrument defines those conditions; liability insurance is listed separately.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Identify subcontractors and any exempt category

The licensing section calls for $10,000 surety for contractors and subcontractors. A General Contractor with subcontractors must specify which are covered under the bond. Do not assume every subcontractor is covered by a broad company name or that a General's bond automatically completes every subcontractor's registration.

The exempt-contractor row includes plumbers and electricians and lists no surety requirement. Its credential instructions distinguish plumbing 055/058 documents from an electrician's license issued by an Illinois testing municipality. Have staff confirm your category rather than inventing a statewide electrician license.

Keep permit deposits and account access separate

The same page separately describes cash bonds for specified construction permits and their release inspections. Those cash-deposit/refund instructions do not establish cancellation or refund terms for this licensing surety. A one-year contractor license from issuance also does not set the duration of the existing provider option.

Purchase Now opens Propeller in a new tab. After issuance, check the principal, named subcontractors, Village designation, amount and dates, then submit the licensing documents as directed. The Village's web PIN for online permit applications is an account-access step, not a surety bond number.

Sources

Have these ready

  1. Confirm whether the Village puts this applicant in its surety or exempt-contractor row.
  2. Have the accepted $10,000 form and Village Holder/Indemnitee wording.
  3. Identify the subcontractors to be specified where applicable.
  4. Keep insurance, trade credentials and permit cash deposits separate.
  5. Check issued details and licensing delivery apart from permit-portal access.

Questions about this bond

Does the General Contractor bond automatically cover every sub?

The Village says a General with subcontractors must specify those covered. Ask staff how the accepted coverage arrangement fits each contractor's registration instead of assuming blanket coverage.

Do the listed exempt contractors need $10,000 surety?

The licensing page's exempt row says no surety requirement and supplies credential instructions. Have staff verify the applicable plumbing or tested-municipal electrician credentials for your case.

Is this the cash bond released after final inspection?

No equivalence is established. The Village describes permit cash deposits and release inspections separately from contractor-license surety; follow the actual request for each.
