What this bond does

Secure County-performed destruction of cannabis or cannabis products and removal of trash, debris or other waste associated with the commercial cannabis operation.

Who needs it
Operators responding to a Calaveras County security request under Chapter 17.18, including permit holders preparing annual continuation. Match the legal operator, permitted activity and premises to the County's requirement.
Who it protects
The County's published requirement protects its ability to perform the specified destruction and waste-removal work. The deposit or bond must remain valid and fully collectible by the County. This purpose does not establish general customer, landlord or tax-account coverage.

Your bond option

This is the option on record for this bond.

The bond amount describes the limit of the bond obligation, not the price. A listed amount does not establish what the requesting party requires. The premium is what you pay and must be confirmed for the actual option. An E&O limit, where listed, is separate errors and omissions insurance.

Details for County cleanup security and continuation

The County's July 8, 2026 financial-security guidance cites section 17.18.070(A)(4)(d) and requires either a $5,000 cash mitigation deposit or a $5,000 surety bond. It identifies the work secured: cannabis or product destruction and removal of associated trash, debris or waste when the County must perform it. Use the County's accepted undertaking for the actual permit rather than a generic cannabis tax or customer-refund form.

The County's annual-continuation guidance calls for evidence that the required deposit or bond remains valid and fully collectible. Continuation materials are due at least thirty days before the anniversary of permit validation. That filing schedule does not itself supply a surety cancellation period or make the bond an automatically expiring annual instrument.

The County states that unused rights to apply expired on October 22, 2024. Its current guidance distinguishes those expired rights from transfers or authorized changes to existing permits. Confirm the actual permit status and any transfer approval before purchasing security; a bond application cannot create eligibility.

County conditional approval does not authorize operations. The required State cannabis license must be issued and the County permit validated before commercial activity begins. The County's Building Department cannabis program handles the local permit process; keep its security and validation instructions separate from State licensing.

Questions about this bond

Does this bond establish a right to a new cultivation permit?

No. The County says unused application rights expired October 22, 2024. Existing-permit transfers and other authorized changes have separate rules. Establish your actual permit status and County direction before buying security.

What work does the County identify as secured?

Its published requirement identifies destruction of cannabis or cannabis products and removal of associated trash, debris or waste if the County must perform the work. It is not evidence of blanket protection for all cannabis-related accounts or losses.
